SO/DH is being a butthead

I am getting so tired of my SO/DH whatever you want to call him.  He has always said that family comes first, well, I think he is full of crap.  He doesn't get home until 8 or 9 at night almost every night and now he is working weekends.  He does not help the kids with their school work.  I have  the kids being home cyber school.  His solution is to get a hold of the teachers for help.  Yes I know that is what they are there for however he should be responsible enough to help. 

I know I should be glad that he has a job.  He is paid salary.  Anything over 50 hrs he does not get paid.  It is just frustrating.  It justseems he does not want to help with the kids anymore or do anything around the house anymore.  It is just getting more than I can handle anymore.

I guess I just need to vent.  I am not sure how that is going to help though.

My brother has two wonderful girls (that I helped raise) and when it's his weekend to have them his way of parenting is to have his nose in the computer. He also has "game night" with a house full of men every saturday with two teenage girls. GRRRRRR. The oldest who is 14 has adhd and is still in the 7th grade because she can't get a parent to care long enough to help her out. I agree with you and believe that the parents have a huge responsibility to help their children succeed in school. My parents only helped through the elementary years and I struggled to get good grades in high school. I am glad to see a parent who cares! Keep up the good work. Also, don't ever be scared or feel guilty to take "me time". YOU DESERVE IT!
