My children and I took some very caring advice from many mommas on here when I had a meltdown the other day and wrote that last journal post. They were so caring, loving, compassionate, suggestive, helpful, and honest.
You know when I say honest I almost mean kinda harsh lol. but hey, when Im sitting around crying my eyes out, not knowing what Im going to do to get through this holiday without a million little questions breaking my heart and theirs, I needed that harsh honesty to pick my butt back up and remind me of the love I have taken for granted in my family. To instill in my children as their ambassador to the world- how Christmas is really to be "felt" and traditional, not materialistic and greedy. All but that "lacy" chick who was just downright idiotically mean, most of your words were beautifully read by me, taken to heart, not taken hatefully, and I have a few things to share now.
A freind of mine from North Carolina (I live in Illinois) I have never met her, just through Cafemom, reminded me that Christmas is about Jesus, and togetherness, as did many others as well, but her suggestion hit me hardest, and I took her up on a project she emailed me. Now she didnt know I was a very good seamstress with a box full of sewnots lol so I had buttons, ribbons, glues galore, and we only had to spend about $5 at the dollar tree and I followed her instructions via email and made beautiful ornaments for the whole family, and about 10 people through the last journal post who are going to do a christmas card exchange with us. Here was her suggestion :

We finished 7 tonight, and will do more tomorrow. We can make 25 total with that $5 we spent tonight. Thank you my cafemom friend for this suggestion, and all those who reminded me to be a GOOD ambassador to the world and etiquettte and tradition and love, to my children. Im quite sure we will come up with even more homemade love to spread this year, and have fun making this a wonderful Christmas even though we dont have the money to buy gifts. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!
