DF rescued a puppy, now we have another furbaby...

DF works for rent-a-center and he's the "account manager" which is a fancy way of saying "delivery/repo man"... His route is mostly going through the ghetto knocking on people's doors because they feel they shouldnt have to make their payments.  "Whatdya mean you wanna take mah tee-veee?  I ped fo it!!"  No, you only made the first week's payment.  You seriously didnt expect to pay $30 for a $2000 tv did you?  That contract you signed?  That means you either make the payments or we take it back.  Period. 

DF has come across some pretty awful situations before (where DSS has been called on some families- by me, when he came home and told me what was going on) but in a situation where its a kid, theres really not much you can do.  Yesterday, he went to do a repo, and there's a 2-3 mo old solid black pit puppy sitting out in the yard, half-starved... with a DIY chop-job on its ears (poor baby) and a spot on his leg thats wide open.  DF got onto the homeowner and said "If you dont know how to properly take care of a dog, then you dont deserve to have one."  So the person said that DF could just take the puppy, and he did... so I now have another rescue pet.  He's a cutie, very timid, you can tell he's used to getting the crap beat out of him.  He loves the kids, that's the first time I saw him wag his tail.  I got home yesterday and put some "purple medicine" on his leg (its a fresh wound) and gauze and an ACE bandage and took him out to go potty, and my kids saw him and wanted to pet him - the puppy just wagged his tail!!  It was so cute, I saw hope in his eyes in that moment.  It took him a few hours to adjust...we're letting him stay inside until he gets better, and until late last night he wouldnt move from one spot, but around 10 or so he started following me around the house.  *sigh* I'm going to get some pics of my new rescue baby... we havent figured out a name yet... I like short names for animals (we have Zeus, Smoke (another rescue baby), Molly (the only other female besides me) and Rocky. Maybe Ace, because he's black as the ace of spades?  I wanted something that would fit his personality... but I dont know his personality yet (since hes still so shy, and scared...)  I feel once he realizes that we're his new family and he wont get hurt again, he will come out of his shell...I dont know.  I also like Gideon (I watch way too many Criminal Minds reruns) I dont know. 

I just wanted to let you know about my new baby!  :) 

Oh, and I know that its wrong to say that his repo route is "in the ghetto" but think about it... the nicer neighborhoods - those people PAY their bills.  And not everyone in the ghetto goes into repo, some of them pay their bills... but the majority of his repo route is in the worst part of the govt funded ghetto.  Thank you.

congrats on the new pup. GO HUBBY!!!!.. And i know what you mean about ghetto. I use to live in the ghetto.

That is great you guys saved the poor puppy and i think it is great that you guys try to step in where you can!! It tells me you are a very carinf person!
