I was reading online for self-help with my depression. I can't really afford to go to a psychologist at the moment. Not with trying to get back into College and my baby boy needing my attention.

If you had several traumatizing events in your life, that are somewhat holding you back you should write about it. The person suggested to have three journals, and yes that may seem like a lot of upkeep but in the end its supposed to be worth it.

1.) For all the good times in your life.

2.) For the bad times.

3.) For the traumatizing times in your life.

Now, it may seem redundant to have a journal for your bad times and traumatizing times but they can be very different. Bad times can be the times that define you, and the traumatizing times is when it holds you back.

I'm going to try it, it may be worth it. Maybe, maybe I'll learn how to get through everything.

I hope it works out foryou. but depression can be chemcial as well as situational. maybe you could do this and see a family practioner at the same time for a little help while you work on things?
