I know many people cringe at the thought of Christmas being hauled up from the department stores' basements earlier and earlier each year. I'm not complaining! This week marked the beginning of the Festival Of Trees in our town. For us, that means my girls, my mother and I get bundled up and stand on the top of the Second Street parking garage to watch as high school bands march, clowns paint Rudolph "noses" on spectators and huge balloons from Starbound Entertainment are escorted through the downtown area, around streetlights and under the skywalk. It's a holiday sight to behold.

The parade's end is marked by the Jolly Man in Red cruising down the street in the back of his restored and modified Santamobile
and then it's time for us to head over to the actual festival and soak up the sights and sounds of the upcoming Christmas season.
My oldest captured a few pictures, though my cell phone doesn't do them justice. If you can imagine yourself in a huge hall lighted with nothing but holiday lights and children singing carols on Center Stage, you'll get a better idea.

Yeah, Madison and I agree. Those pictures sucked. It was actually more like this:
And this:

And this:

Oh, and I had to snap a picture of this before it passed us by:

The four year old's shriek of "MOM, LOOK! It's the WEINER!!" was corrected by her sisters telling her "That's not "the weiner" it's the WEINERMOBILE! And you can't just shout out weiner like that. Did you hear her, Mom? "Look it's the WEINER!" Jeez."
They're so totally my kids.

Love the trees, especially the blue lighted one! I wish we had a festival of trees.... ~sigh.
Oh and the Santa Mobile, I so want a miniature version to hang on my tree!!
Beautiful. Stupendous even. I love CHRISTMAS! The only thing keeping me from putting up my decorations early is my fear of going into the attic. Thanks for adding to my anticipatory mood, Eriak.
I want to come to your house for the tree festival. How purdy. I love Christmas.
From trees to the wienermobile... oddly it is still sort of the same subject since they are both kinda phallic. Now I am hungry for hot dogs drizzled in maple syrup.
Now I actually feel Christmassy...not an easy feat. I'm a bit of a grinch.
I haz a sad, though...where are the pictures of my beautiful Riki and her gorgeous spawn? Where, says I?

First thought at the Weinermobile pic: Hotdog thrown down a hallway. LOL
The Christmas trees are purdy and get me excited for Christmas! Yay!
