Maidn's Raving's

down the rabbit hole and to the left

Your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions. -Albert Einstein

Where is your imagination leading you ?:

I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking and in directing my thoughts to focus on my goals. Over the years I have used many little tricks of the trade . One of my favorites is a vision board.

A vision board is simply a place for  visual reminders of what it is you want to achieve. Over the years I have had many types and styles of boards . But I have found the simpler ones work the best. A simple piece of poster board with pictures or drawings of your goals hung in a prominent place can serve as a daily reminder of what you want to achieve. It is low tech and easy to do as well as to redo as your goals evolve and change. You can even have multiple ones focusing on different goals in your life or different levels of one goal. I usually try to break the goals into , 3 areas of my life family , health or personal and work or career.

Another form  of a vision board can be to put pictures or motivational sayings as your computers wallpaper.
There are many programs , usually basically installed on your computer too take slides and pictures , and set them to music  or make a slide show of . On the net there are even sites devoted to this , such as photobucket. com where for free you can embellish pictures and make a slide show . Slide shows work great as visual cues.

The difference between an intention and goal that is left behind and one realized is many times our focus. For those of us that have ever started an exercise program or diet we all know how this works for the first few weeks your gung ho then as time goes by the enthusiasm wanes , other little things cloud your focus , in other words life gets in the way. The key to any change in your life is to establish one little habit as a time that brings you closer and closer to your ultimate goal. Vision boards are very good at this by giving you visual daily little reminders of where you  are going today and where want to end up .

I would encourage you to update or review your board every 6 weeks or so , for if left the same for too long , we tend to forget about them and not notice anymore. It is a good idea to review your goals every 6 weeks anyway and check up on how you are doing.

Be patient and have fun with it.

Remember that every journey starts with one step .

Have a wonderful day
