my son is 2 1/2 years old and will be 3 in april. he is refusing to do anything with potty training. i have tried asking him and taking him all the time, i have tried rewarding him. the closest i have gotten was underwear. he hated being wet and would sit on the toliet afterwards. he is aware of his bodily functions. he brings me a pull up, goes to the bathroom and lays on the bathroom floor waiting to be changed. any advice?

Good Luck!!
Dont worry, it will happen... how many moms do you know that have to change a diaper on graduation day? I was worried with my oldest, he didnt even show interest in his bodily functions and then when he hit 3 1/2 years old, it was almost overnight that he was completely potty trained. I get frustrated with my 22mo son b/c he wont go in his diaper, he takes it off first and goes in the floor... he'll even take his diapers and throw them away, bring me the "bipers" and wipes and then lay down. He likes his potty, but he wont use it. He insists that it stays in the room he is in, takes it everywhere with him... weird. He'll come around eventually... but I'm getting really tired of cleaning the carpets...
Don't push it, dont get frustrated...it will happen when it happens. My son was almost was well on his way to 4 before he was potty trained. the worst thing I did for him was make him do it, it just make him go in the other direction.
best thing i ever did was not make diaper changing fun, ignored the potty all together, and then one day I walked into the bathroom and he was peeing on the potty. he made it his own.
I know its frustrating, but hang in there...it'll happen! Good Luck!!

Does he like dora? My daughter had a regular training toilet he didn't like it at all. One day she tells me a Dora toilet mommy. So I bought it for her. It brought stickers as prizes. Every time she tried even if she didn't go I would give her a sticker, then about two weeks of trying she went for the 1st time. I was so proud. It takes time and sometimes pressuring your baby ain't right. Remember they are just learning that poo and pee goes in this new thing not in a diaper. They aren't wrong we are because we taught them the pee there 1st two years in a diaper was the right thing. It takes time practice and patients.
