Happy Holidays this year may not happen for some of us. My husband and his father have a battle going. My husband, Jim, doesn't jump every time his dad calls and that bugs his dad. Jim's Mom has cancer and is on treatments each week and we don't call or go to see them all the time.

My daughter and her husband are visiting here from KY for the week. They arrived late, late Sunday night and  are staying with the otherset of grandparents. We took them and my mom and dad out to dinner along with my grandson( my son's child).

My in-laws have always gone to my sister-in-laws' for Thanksgiving.(we've been married 31 years). They have always left on Tuesday and come home on Saturday to avoid the traffic. Now the sis-in-law lives 3 hours instead of 8 hours away and they still do the same thing.

My daughter called to try to go up the 3 hours today to see her grandparents and was told she was not welcome by my brother-in-law(a minister)in an e-mail when she tried to arrange a meeting to see her grandparents. She goes to Ohio at Christmas time.( her husband's family) So my daughter won't be back to NJ till next November. We usually meet up with her in TN on Vacation in June. Don't you think that this is a stupid thing for them to do?

My daughter only wants to visit her grandparents while her grandmother is still alive! I am praying that all of the family thinks harder and realizes all that we have to be thankful for ans stops being so petty. Isn't this the time of year that we should mend fences? and Remember why we have Christmas and Thanksgiving?

What do you think?

There has to be a missing piece to this puzzle.  I can't imagine why the uncle would not want his niece to see her grandparents.  I would be asking some questions or I might just show up on his doorstep.
