Oprah's New Network

I hear that Oprah's network is replacing the Discovery Health network. OK- so it is not a watch every day type network, but I wonder if Oprah will continue with health themed shows once she takes over.
She gave Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz a TV presence, last week discussed the health issues in the porn adult entertainment business,  and is a constant topic in the weight loss world.

She already owns at least one network and I believe  has money invested in others. She seems to care about the quality of her programs and other media projects, even when not everyone is excited about the topics.  You can't please all of the people...

I enjoy her magazine even though I can not afford anything advertised in it. The columns are wonderful. Through the magazine she has introduced me to books and websites I can get lost in for hours.
Through her tv show she has put the fear in me that Peter or Nate or Thom could knock on my door and I better get my act together.

There were seasons when I did not miss a show, and there are shows (mainly celebrity gossip) that I would not waste an hour of my life on.  There were times when I did think she was promoting racial tension and discourse and I know it was not her intention.  She was expressing an opinion. She has been able to take fun being at her expense and laugh along.  You have to admit she has (not weight!) grown as a person through her career.  She works hard, is dedicated, and knows how to get along with people.  So she's not perfect - who of you is?

She is perhaps the richest woman in the world, one of the richest people in the world. Are you jealous?  Some days I am a little.  Do you know what she has had to sacrifice to get where she is?  The whole climb was not without bumps.  She had her battles to deal with.

Oprah - I can not say I will miss you because I know you will continue to be part of my experience.
I wish you happiness and success and good friendships  and relaxation.

I am not an Oprah watcher.  Not because I don't like her, but because I just don't 'do' talk shows.  Not my thing.

I think that this is just the logical next step for her.
