Well I actually have some quiet time since my sis took Dominick to her house today and Solomon & Desmond are asleep!! I just folded a big basket of laundry and am taking a break before I do the rest!! There is always so much to do and just not enough time.
I haven't been on here much because I'm working on a felt Christmas stocking for Desmond. I started Solomon's last year when his grandma didn't make him 1 like she did for Dominick; I never finished Solomon's last year but was very close so when I went up to the attic in October to get our Halloween stuff I brought it down & finished it a couple weeks ago and started Desmond's. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to finish his in time for this year, his 1st Christmas!!
Anyway I am thankful for my hubby who works so hard so that I can stay home & take care of our boys and we can raise them the way we planned and who puts himself last and hardly ever complains about it!! I'm also extremely thankful for my parents and sisters who have been a great help both with housework & the boys while I was recovering from my last c/s and are still helping out even 4 months later, helping me keep my sanity! Thankful for my boys: Dominick for being so creative & funny & high-spirited even if he is also defiant 24/7; Solomon for being so independent & intelligent, helpful & loving towards everyone (except when he's mad - watch out!) & Desmond for being so calm & content, being my only baby sleeping through the night at 2 months old! They tire me out so bad but I could not imagine my life without them!
I'm really thankful my husband still has a job when so many in the field have either lost their jobs or had to move out of state, that we are able to pay our bills, keep our kids clothed & fed & are comfortable ourselves; even in my own family of 6 siblings - 2 have had foreclosure notices in the past year, 2 have lost their jobs, 1 is still unemployed & looking but thankfully her ex is helping out with the kids needs. Then there are the health issues, 4 of my siblings are in their 40s and have had various cancer scares and other health issues just about all year long, I think it's kind of hard to get into the "celebration" spirit of Thanksgiving & Christmas with all the trouble that everyone's had.
But again I am thankful for my family and especially that I was able to spend time with my grandma who is 94, this past weekend at the nursing home's family Thanksgiving dinner. She's so lively it's hard to believe she is 94! She couldn't get over how chunky Desmond was - it was her first time meeting him.
