I was shopping one year for a toddler bed. I had found them to be 25.99. So everyone has always told me for big purchases and such wait till black friday!!! So there is another bed (that turns into a twin) that is a little more pricey. So I check prices weekly (thinking if either one goes on sale, I might just buy it then). In the beginning of November they raised the 25.99 bed to 59.99!!!! Then when black friday came around they then put it back down to the original 25.99!!!! WoW who are you kidding here!!!! While everyone thinks they're getting such deals and bargains, the stores are spending months in advance of hiking the prices on various hot items to then claim it to be a deal to buy at original price come black friday!!!
So I will stay this year and years to come comfy, warm, snuggled up in my bed snoring and hopefully dreaming pleasant dreams while the madness awaits to begin early as midnight tonight!!!!
Happy Shopping Everyone!!!!

Yeah, waiting until Black Friday is a hoax.....the stuff they "mark down" is either stuff they jacked up the prices on or cheap quality stuff anyway. Why get out of bed to fight people for cheap crap anyway? It's sad that a lot of people don't know this and get fooled into buying stuff like crazy on the day after Thanksgiving.
We've never gone shopping on that day and never will. It's not worth it. We'd rather stay in our PJ's all day and eat leftovers! Yay for leftover pumpkin pie...I had that for lunch. LOL
I would rather stay in my nice warm bed. I discovered last year that they actually have "sales" on stuff all weekend anyway so why get up @ 4 a.m. to go fight a ton of crazy ppl whenI can go on Saturday afternoon when the "hype" of Black Friday has died down a bit & get something inexpensive anyway. I also agree w/ Pollymom that Black Friday is a bunch of cheaper stuff as well. IE: Target this year had in their ad 1.5 qt crock pot, coffee pot, etc for $3.00 - I would have liked an additional crock pot but not gonna go fight other ppl & get outta bed to spend a whopping $3.00 LOL
though i agree with some. i have gotten in past years great deals. not only that i actually like the hustle and bustle with my girls. kinda gets us pumped up.
I've never gone shopping on Black Friday. I just don't see the point. We don't have any money to go shopping with. I have about $20 to my name right now, and I have to spend it at Dollar Tree for food. Blah.
i think you just had an unfortunate run in.....everything i get on black friday is marked down considerably (like the garman Nuvi GPS. It was on sale for 100 bucks and i paid well over 200) and 25 bucks for a toddler bed is a steal. My daugthers was 100 and my sons was 300.
You just have to know how to shop the deals. You have to make sure you are actually getting a good deal before you buy the stuff! I got a playhouse for my son and saved $60! Definitely a good deal! I don't go to the stores and just buy any and everything on sale. I go out with a purpose, knowing the things I need to buy. Research ahead of time is key! I also got some great deals at Old Navy. I got my 6 week old 4 outfits, my 2 year old 3 outfits, my self 3 outfits, and my boyfriend 4 outfits for around $170! The most expensive thing was $15 for jeans. Although I did shop old navy last night and didn't fight the crowds at 5 am. lol.
I've gone out in the past and got some good deals like some really nice sheets. This year though I didn't see anything worth getting up for. I did see a few scams though. Somewhere claiming that Twilight Scene It was $60 and they were selling it for the crazy price of $25. I bought it last week for my hubby's b'day and it was $27.
