Feeling like the step-child

My side of the family did thanksgiving on Sunday... which was loads of fun...no fussing and fighting, just lots of fun, laughter and passing of babies (a 21 mo, 14 mo, 7 mo and 3 mo, and then the soon-to be baby got a lot of attention too)... and the running around of the big kids (ages 8, 8,7,6,6,6 and 5) oh the fun we had!! 

DF's family decided to do their thanksgiving on the actual day, which is ok, nothing wrong with that.  I had to work 3pm-7pm so i wasnt going to be able to go.  Well, about 1:30 DF packs up the kids and heads off for the other side of the county... DS1 (who is pretty much DF's "step child", as he is from my first marriage) was SOOO excited about going to see his cousins... they get there and the cousins dont want anything to do with him.  DS1 was all "hey, lets go play with this" or "lets go do that" and they threw little fits about not wanting to play with him.  Imagine how DS1 must have felt!  Of course all of the attention was on DS2 who is DF's first biological son... and everyone ignored DS1 and DS3(who is 7 mo old, so he wasnt too bothered by it.).... 

Finally DS1 got to the point where he was just so disappointed... he asked DF if they could just go home... so they did.  I know DS1 is different than most kids... and he's also battling depression (thanks to genetics and the adderall) and I think that those children should have been a little nicer.  I think its a good thing I had to work or we would probably not be allowed back to that house...
