- My oldest sister's name was Frances Geradline. She was only 62 years old when she passed away. She died on September 4, 2005 from congested heart failure associated with COPD. The COPD is a lung disease people usually get from smoking. I call my sister JOLENE,she treated me more like a daughter then she did a sister. She had five daughters, her oldest daughter is five years younger than me. Her baby daughter is about twelve years younger than me. So when she was in the hospital, after her youngest baby, because she almost died,I stayed and took care of her girls. I was only like 12 years old myself taking care of a newborn, and four girls between the baby and about six years old. There dad was there with us from five in the afternoon until seven in the morning...I stayed for the three weeks Joleen was in the hospital then when she came home I was still there. But once her husband Cecil tried to fondle me and did do something to the six year old until I woke up and stopped him. Anyway,he came back into our bedroom and tried to put his hands under my panties,i hit him, kicked him and went to the baby room for the rest of the night. I insisted on going hom,e the next day. I told mama what happened she said " Don't tell Jolene it will just hurt her and not do any good." I didn't want to go back to Jolene's but I had to do what ever mama said she was my mama. I did tell Jolene, She told me He was wrong not to worry about it. She said she thinks he does things to the six year old. I told her everything then so her and him had a big fight. I do know she had a preacher come and talk to him. He quit drinking for a while then I went home in a few weeks. He started back drinking just like within a couple of weeks of stopping. But she apologized to me and cried and told me so many things I will never forget. She told me about loving a man. She said sometimes you love a person so much it hurts but she told me "Don't ever love somebody more than you love yourself." always take care of yourself and put your kids before you or anybody. I never understood for the life of me WHY she continued to stay with him after I left and him and Donna continued on as they did as she grew up.......When the girls were all grown and married they all but Donna would never let their daughters spend the night at Jolenes house. The only way was for her to be home. She worked nights at a egg carton plant in Florida for many years,he worked at drinking and smoking his life away. So she didn't have her grandkids around a lot. One of the daughters the second born-hated him-she would not let her daughters spend the night period. She told everybody he had tried to molest her and she new he had over the years molested Donna. But Donna said he did not and she drink and smoked drugs with him when she got old enough to defy Jolene. They have a grand daughter from the youngest daughter who is just the spitting image of him. They have raised her because their daughter ran away from at fifteen and was pregnant, they all claim she was pregnant by her bf. Her bf was an illegal immigrant who we have never met ever. Crissy who is now nineteen is no more mexican then I am but is the image of her grandpa. It has never been said out loud but we all know who she belongs to.......Joleen knew who she belonged to that is why the daughter got anything she needed and the granddaughter was hers to raise. Not right but the only thing my sister could do in her lifetime to make the hurt in her heart and in her soul go away.....I love my sister no matter how wrong this was. (more to tell about my sister Jolene later) November 28th 2009 at 5;18pm)
