Okay, I am so nervous knowing I need to have a c-section in May. I know I have some time to think about this but I need some advice from some moms who have had a c-section before. Well, my mother-in-law is an OG/GYN but I don't always take her advice on certain things. I need to know what you would prefer staples or stiches? I'm kind of leaning towards staples because my sister had my precious nephew not to long ago and she wanted stiches. The doctor told her to cough alot so she wouldn't get sick from the gas or whatever. So about a week after returning home she caught a cold and was coughing alot and popped 4 stiches. She called the doctors office and made an emergency appointment. I went with her to care for my nephew. The doctor told her there wasn't anything he could do. I asked him if it was possible to be restiched and he said no. So he asked me to watch what he did so I could care for the wound. I was almost vomiting watching him. He told me to soak 2 gaul pads in peroxide(which later I found out was wrong because it makes bad tissue grow back), take a qtip and pack the wound with the gauls. I had to do that for about 3 months, morning and night. That scares me so bad. My sister would scream everytime I packed the wound ( it was like 3 inches wide and about 3 inches deep). So I need to know is this a common thing that happens? Should I just stick with staples? I don't know, please give me some advice.

Quite honestly, neither. Ask for glue. Works much better than either. I think they might stitch the insides, then glue the outside, but either way, it was less painful and an easier heal for me than stiches or stables. (I've had 2 c-sections and 2 open heart surgeries, so had experience with all of those!)
Why do you have to have a c section? So many c sections are not neccessary. I would look into if you actually need one.
I had a c-section before. The pregnancy was so complicated, she was born at 5 months and weighed 1 pound. I was so dopped up and in the hospital for a month that I don't remember hardly anything. All I knew was the baby was breech and the umbillical cord was around the neck which was perfectly understandable because of the fact that she was breech. Well, like a week after having her was when they slowed the medications down and then they asked me if I wanted to see my little girl. I was so happy to know that she was actually alive. They didn't tell me anything unless I was just THAT dopped up. But I knew I had staples because I could see the holes where they were. But I never felt any pain because of meds. So this doctor told me that since I had a c-section before that the hospital wouldn't let me have this baby vaginally. I was so mad because I had a girl vaginally after my c-section. But they won't let me this time. SORRY MY RESPONSE WAS SO LONG. P.S. Yes, Breanna is alive and as healthy as could be!

Staples!!
I had two c-sections and got stapled each time. You only deal with them for about a week or two and then a nurse comes to your house and takes them out which is completely painless. I think the scar is even smaller with the staples too. Just be sure to keep em dry and they're good.
