BF question ... Alexander, 4 months is my 3rd baby. I tried BF each boy.
With my first I got a few weeks, then one night I tried feeding him for 7 hours, nothing - he just cried and cried until we both passed out in the rocking chair. I kept trying and trying, nothing, or barely anything. I went and bought a pump, for another week or so I was able to pump enough for him to eat, then less and less until after several hours of trying I wasn't able to get even an ounce out.
With my second I tried for a few days and the same thing started to happen. After a week he also ended up on formula.
With Alexander, I tried on and off for a few weeks, and the same thing. I started doing half bf and half ff. Then switched straight to ff. After a month or two I bought a pump and started pumping. I immediately started getting milk, but after a few days, the same thing happened as with my first, barely any milk after several hours. I was going to be starting work, so I put him completely on ff because with him, a 1.5 year old and a 3.5 year old, I didn't think I could handle trying to figure out how to train my body into making milk. But now I am out of work until mid-April, and I read about another mom who was able to get some milk in. Is it actually possible to start bf again? If so, what should I do to try? Do I need to call the hospital and see a lactation consultant? I;ve heard some moms talk about teas or something to drink to try to help. If it is possible to try to bf again, I really want to.
Suggestions or help?!??!?!
