My dearest hunny,
Sixteen years ago you became more than my best friend, you became my husband. In that tacky chapel in Vegas, in front of my parents and my sister and her partner, you and I exchanged those vows that made us man and wife.
Through the years and our two kids, we have been through so much, good and bad. The birth of the kids was such a blessing and you are an amazing dad. We may not always agree on rules and consequences, but we've gotten really good at compromising. We have two wonderful kids because of it.
Yes we've had our rough times and yes we've come close to divorce, but there is nothing about our lives that I would change, not even our financial trouble or health issues we've faced in the last few years. These are the obstacles that have made us stronger together and separately and made our marriage grow into the solid mostly happy marriage it is today.
Yes, I said mostly happy, you know as well as I do, that no one can be happy all the time. I just feel blessed because we make the choice every day to stay married and in love. We choose to work at our marriage and no matter how mad we get, the love never fades, in fact it just grows stronger.
So today, on our 16th wedding anniversary, I want to tell you how much I love you and how much you mean to me. You are my rock and my best friend. Even knowing what I know now, I would marry you all over again.
I Love You!!
Your loving wife
