My son Tyler is 9, he still believes in Santa!  We have been having some issues with his behavior, a little defiant and mouthy at home, way too much attitude in school.  He has gotten written up twice in the last month at school, which is now part of his permanent record....NOT GOOD!  There's no physical aggressive behavior, just verbal towards a few others.  His bahavior has gotten worse since Daddy went to jail for driving on a revoked, he's been gone 6 months already, and has another 8 to go.  His absence has really caused a lot of heartache for Tyler.  I was fretting and freaking out last Thursday after the 2nd incident, what was I going to do, was my kid going to get suspended, etc.  So after laying in bed wide awake until 1:30 in the morning it dawned on me.....Call in the fat guy in the red suit!  I got up, found my son's Xmas stocking, sat down and wrote him a letter from Santa!  Basically told him that I noticed him making bad choices, not listening and helping Mommy out while Daddy was gone, etc.  I also praised him for making Honor roll and getting such good grades the 1st quarter.  But really stressed the fact that his behavior was leaning towards the naughty list, and I didn't want that to happen because it would make everyone very sad.  I signed the letter Love Santa  & Mrs. Claus.  I put the letter in his stocking and put it  on the floor in his room.  When he woke up Friday morning, he came down with a puzzled look on his face.  I asked him what he had in his hands, why did he have his stocking etc., he said it was on my floor, there's something  in it.  He took it out of the stocking handed it to me and asked me what it said.  I read the letter to him, he had a shell shocked look on his face, went upstairs, got dressed, came down, ate breakfast, went off to school.. he had a GREAT day the teacher said, his OT said Tyler kept asking, "Is my attitude good, is it in check, I'm being good right?".  He had a great weekend, and another great day today.  Damn that Santa's good.....Damn Mom is just evil!  But a Mom's gotta do, what a Mom's gotta do!
