ADHD & ODD??????

 Does anyone have a child with these 2 issues?  My son is 7yrs old & is ADHD & I think he is also Bipolar & ODD.  I have no idea what to do with him.  His behavior is so out of control yesterday when I got home form grocery shopping I found out that he stole candy & 2 rubber balls form the store.  I feel like screaming.  He talks back, swears, hits, breaks things & I have no idea what I can do.  I feel like I am the only one in the world going through this ( I know there are others out there ).  I just need some advice from someone who is dealing with the same thing.  He has an appointment in January to have a complete psych eval so hopefully I can get some answers soon.

Wow - sounds exactly like my 8yr old son.  He was diagnosed ADHD/Odd at age 3.  His whole life so far, he has been labeled as "extreme ADHD" by his doctors and teachers.  He lies, steals, swears, hurts people - it can get pretty bad.  Especially if it just me around.  With other people, he is a little better.  I recently started taking him to a specialized counselor - who specializes in ADHD/ODD/bipolar and last week the counselor stated that he is pretty sure he is bipolar as well.  So - you are not the only person going through this, I promise.  It does seem that way when your child is screaming at you and you can't do much about it and conventional discipline does not work...  I know EXACTLY what you are going through...  If you ever want to chat, email me - [e-mail].  Maybe we can suggest things that might help.
