I grew up in the Mid-West. Out there... The 'natives' are accustomed to snow and the cold. Well...not really, they have just come to accept it and deal! :) It's Kinda like an grumpy old relative...ya don't have to like them, but you tolerate them anyway! LOL
10 LONG years ago we left the mid-west and moved our family South! ...We dreamed of the sunshine, palm trees, beaches and fun! ....We dreamed! LOL
Dreams are great to have...don't get me wrong, but when you dream...make sure that you know what you really want and do the research! ALOT OF RESEARCH! LOL
On our very first Christmas away from home...We traveled back up to Michigan for the holidays. We quickly found ourselves in the midst of a snow storm. When we opened up our car doors to exit..they were nearly blown right from our hands. It was a mere 15 steps to the front door...but my freakin nose hairs had FROZEN! wth? I shook my head and screamed over the howling wind ..."How did we do this for so long?!?!? How did we survive?!?! "
NOW...after 10 years, I find myself homesick daily! I would squeal with delight for a few frozen nose hairs now...LOL
It is true ...you don't know what you have until you have lost it.

When we lived up North...I hated snow! Sure it was pretty when it fell and covered the streets like a blanket. ...but driving in it sucked all of the picture- postcard, romance dry for me! LOL
Snow was my great enemy to be shoveled and pushed aside! ....and now, I am wildly surprised at the fact...that I miss the darn stuff! REALLY!!!! Shocking! LOL
Today, I hear a news report that a major snow storm has blanketed the New England States and The Mid West... I actually find myself longing to go out and jump into a big snow drift! LOL Or make a few snow angels....Or...go skiing again...snowmobiling....or just watching and counting snow flakes! ..the list in my imagination does go on and on...
As I sit here in my office...looking out at the dull, night sky which holds no snow flakes for me to gaze upon...(and not even a star at the moment), I long for those days of scrapping wind shields and snow ball fights!
It is the small stuff in life that really makes us happiest.

Let this be a little pep talk for all of my snow bunnies who are battling the snow blowers and freezing rain...take a moment to enjoy it! Just as the grumpy old relative will one day pass away and be sorely missed, The snow will melt and June will come ...and then we will grumble about how blasted HOT it is! LOL
We must remember to take hold of today! enjoy it...breathe it in!
That bothersome Frigid wind that freezes your nose hairs today...may just be the thing that you long for tomorrow. LOL
In essence....Seize the Day!

Carpe Diem!
Stay Warm and enjoy a hot cup of cocoa...
...with extra whipped cream..of course! ;)
