The holidays are fast approaching and I think it is the time of year when people need to get back in touch with kindness and their inner child. A lot of people forget what it feels like when someone is kind to them or even how they feel when they do something for others... Unfortunately, this is something that comes with growing up and losing that inner child. We become so engulfed in our daily lives that we forget about others. If every one of us went out and randomly helped someone gain a smile on their face... The world would be a better place.
There are a group of us that got together on FaceBook to send out Mystery Missions. You can get to the group by clicking HERE and to the event page by clicking HERE. It's called "Operation You've Got Mail". Essentially, on Friday, December 18th, we are all writing random acts of kindness, sticking them in envelopes and putting them in random places around our towns in hopes of stimulating people to do good deeds and "pay it forward". Just think of the outcome if all you CafeMomers were to join in.
You take an envelope and write the word "CONFIDENTIAL" on it, take a piece of paper and put a random act of kindness on it... It should be set up as follows...
Your Mission: (insert random act of kindness here. Some examples are: Hug someone for no reason, stop and help someone who is on the side of the road having car trouble, tape the exact change for a drink to a drink machine, etc.)
And then you will sign that piece of paper with "Mystery Missions".
It's a wonderful thing to help people and even if you decide NOT to do this, if you happen across an envelope with "CONFIDENTIAL" written on it, please open it and do what the little piece of paper says. Remember, to the world you may be one person... but to one person... you may be the world.
