We're Getting A Shih-Tzu - Do you have any stories?

We're heading out of town tomorrow to pick up a little dog. Possibly a Shih-Tzu, since that's what our 4 (almost 5 yo) wants. Don't get me wrong, she's almost 5, I do realize that I will be the one taking care of the baby. ;) lol But I think if she can be more attached to the puppy than she is to our other dogs, it may teach her some responsibility, even though she's so young.

But anyway, I was wondering if anyone out there with a Shih-Tzu can tell me a bit about their own. Puppy, Young, Adult, it doesn't matter.

I do know that they have eye/ear problems because of their hair and that their hair has to be pulled up on top to be kept out of their eyes. We have a maltese-pekingese who is no stranger to the groomer and ear cleanings. These are no problem for me.

Any other info would be great, though. I've looked up some things online, but kind of want personal stories as well.
