And we don't need health care reform????

In the last week I have received 2 notices from our health care company, about rate increases. In January our rates will be going up $70 and in February another $110. In November the rate went up $80 thats $260 in 4 months! My husband called today and there is another rate increase planned for March!!! Right now our health insurance is $100 less than our mortgage!! That is insane! We are on the verge of not being able to afford health care and we make WAY too much for any type of assistance.

My husband has benefits through work, but would have to pay for myself and our two kids to the tune of $1300 a month! So we have a separate plan purchased through Atena, and its not even a wonderful plan! We have a $1500 deductible and I carry no maternity coverage (So Dh's vasectomy better have worked LOL!)

I think that it is just insane that in the United States so many people can't afford health insurance and nothing is being done about it!

We don't have health insurance for ourselves, Josef's is thru a state funded program and still dosen't pay jack.  $150 co-pay for the ER, no rx med coverage, no dental or really anything else and a $15 sick child co-pay, and they call that the "AL Caring Child Program"  If they acutally cared about their children, they would cover more!  We can not afford the premiums thru Ray's work so we do what we can for Josef.

Here here!  Our coverage is nearly a mortgage as well and it's through Nick's job!  It's ok coverage...but not worth the price of a moderate home!
