Christmas Is Canceled !

Well it started out well.  We all woke up early in the morning and got our cocoa and found a place in front of the tree.  The five children each had their stack of gifts and waited patiently for my ex-husband to arrive (he always comes for Christmas).  We began with a few gifts and then my husband excused himself to go to the bathroom.

On the way back in he tripped slightly on our five year old.  Well that began the worst Christmas ever.  He tried to regain his footing and straightened himself back up to his 6'4 frame.  That got him to smack straight into the chandelair that hangs in the center of the room.  I saw this and stood to help him - I am 4'11 in socks.  He is now falling toward me and lands full force into me.  He is 300+ lbs and I am now under him.  We fell onto a big stack of presents that thankfully was baby clothes all wrapped up so no harm done.  I look up at my ex-husband who is trying to lift my own husband off me.  Hubby is freaking out and now my back sears with pain.

So hubby gets laid next to me and my 14 year old is told to call 911.  My husband is now bleeding and I am crying from a back injury.  So the ambulance shows up and then another for me.  The kids are crying with my ex-husband and mother-in-law.  I can't make sense of anything right now.  We get to the hospital and demerol takes away all my pain.  I have a sprained back but I am moved in with my husband as soon as I am able.

Now my father shows up and they tell me that my husband has a major concusion and they need to monitor him for the next few hours.  My mother is at home with the kids.  So we just got in the door and Christmas is ruined.  Hubby is asleep in bed.  He is to stay there for the next few days and rest.  I am on muscle relaxers and pain meds.  The tree is still stuffed with presents.  The kids don't want to do anything until Daddy is all better.  This sucks !  I just want to wake up from this mini-nightmare.  I know others have it worse but this is the worst for me.  I feel like I really was on Santa's naughty list !  Ugh.

oh that really sucks mamma. I will keep you and hubby in prayers for a very quick recovery.

Honey christmas is NOT ruined!! thankfully there were adults there to take over when the accident happened, but you are essentially BOTH OK!! what love and what an awesome family that EVERYONE was there!! including your Ex!! Honey cherish the love of today, even that the kids want to wait. so many children would not want to wait. yet yours are obvsiouly well brought up and have GREAT hearts to want to wait.

OMGoodness I'm sorry to hear this has happened to you all. Thank goodness your on pleasant terms with your ex and that your Mother can help out with the kids till you're back up and able to move. Get well vibes being sent to you and your husband. The kids will still have their Christmas, don't worry, just get back to feeling better =)
