A sweet friend of mine died the day before Christmas eve. In 2002 she was diagonsed with a odd type of bone cancer. She fought and through many hopes and prayers she went into remission.I saw her not too long ago and her hair had grown back and her smile was there as she jetted around the store with her younger brother. I had heard that the cancer was back and I didn't want to believe it. This child had already traveled a rough road. Her father died when she was a baby, her mother had many issues which made it necessary for her to be raised by other family members, she was molested and abused until the last few years of her life. It never affected her and she always had a smile. She loved to sing in her church choir and requested that her final service be in that church. This child possessed more poise and state of being than most adults I know. We could all learn a lesson from this young girl. At 16 she was what many of us should aspire to be, happy in their own skin even when it revolts against us. Able to face death with dignity and with the knowledge that when we were here on this earth we did as we could to be a light to others and to be sunshine in their lives.....sleep my beautiful child...sleep...we will meet again...
