Ladies,

I just need to vent.........sorry

My son is Teo is 6 and severe/moderate asd. He is verbal but very echolalic. He really cant give his wants/needs at this point. He is very sweet and is a good boy but(ya'll know there is always a BUT!) he is very busy and into everything! We have had to lock our basement door b/c he will turn off the furnace, turn on the washer(even puts clothes! lol) turns off the computer, makes a general mess. Then we had to lock our main bedroom door b/c he would mess up Sal's(dh) apnea machine, chew on the parts, take off all the bedding, open all the drawers and take out the clothes(you all know). We also had to lock our kitchen cabinets b/c Teo LOVES to bake(thanks to his teacher! they "cook" every monday) he will take out everything he needs. He has cracked a dozen eggs in a bowl(even through out all the shells).

Now he has into showers. OMG this kid would live in there if you let him.  He took 3 alone today. so now I have to put a lock on the bathroom door.(we had one but took it off when my youngest locked herself in there).  If I go downstairs to do laundry I will come up and hear the water running!

I love and adore my son. He is a wonderful lil man and has changed my life for the better in so many ways. I feel bad for my other 4 kids that all this is going on. Its a major pain in the butt to have to feel like your in prison but my son has to be safe.

Tracy,

I feel what your going through..Beckham does alot of what you say Teo does, it makes us feel so frustrated at times, we love our boys,but the stress and sometimes helplessness can overcome us. Hang in there and I am here for you. Take care and hugs, L

Tracy,

Just wanted to give you some hugs!  I know how these little guys can get into a lot of stuff!  Owen's only 3 still, but it is starting, the curiosity especially.  Hang in there momma, and know that you are doing the very best for your family!  Lots of love!
