The title catches the eye of most women huh?

I gonna talk a little about Knock off Gucci purses. You see Gucci purses you like, you want one bad. You think about the money...is is worth it? Will it last? What if I spill something on it? What if one of my kids draws on it? What if, what IF???

Then you see knock off Gucci purses...ok now we are talking. This is more like it. I can do this, looks enough like a Gucci that I don't care, I want it. So er buy the knock off. Everything is just fine from point of sale all the way home. We are so excited you can't wait to get all of your things from your old purse into your new one. Next stop??? Somewhere public, we want to show off our new buy and get comments from other Gucci lovers...

Problem is when we get out in public with out Gucci we realize those that we want to impress know that it is a knock off and we then look at our clothes and see that we don't look like we'd own a Gucci bag. The women with the real Gucci bags have the nice hair, nails, clothes and car. We aren't happy with our knock off any longer, it just isn't good enough. We want...no we NEED the real thing.

We are now much wiser since we bought this knock off. We now know that the knock off can be seen a mile away by those that have the real thing and that the knock off also has other flaws....it doesn't last near as long. The purse strap rips off, the zipper jams, and the inside liner...well it is pretty much gone now. Why didn't we buy the real thing? What were we thinking???

Now in this situation we could not get the Gucci purse now, because we have done worn out the knock off and we don't have the money to buy the real purse now, we are just out...

But in life we can get that Gucci purse still...Jesus is of course better than a Gucci purse, for example's sake let's look at it in the same context. Anything that is not Jesus is like a cheap purse, it is not the same, the joy will not last, it can be seen as a knock off from a mile away(maybe even father). At some point we (if we did not go back and by that "Gucci") would regret not choosing Jesus.

Also just like the Gucci purse...there is a price for following Jesus. The price we pay is giving our lives to Him, and in exchange He gives us life more abundantly(as long as we follow through and stand for Him) and we receive His grace! We are forgiven of our sins. We have eternal life! We are transformed, we don't have the same desires any longer. Can we still fall away? Of course...free will. But once we have truly tasted the fruits of the spirit, why would we ever want to back slide, and if we do we want what we lost back again. We know there is but one. He is the way the truth and the life!

So what are you carrying on your shoulder?

God bless,

Sheri
