Snow Days

Currently, we are getting dumped on right now in the Cincinnati area.  It's a winter wonderland.  Seems like most of the nation is joining us.  What does that mean for most moms?  Snow Day!  While a blessing for the kids, snow days can reak havoc on a mom's schedule and sanity.  The kids love it because they can stay home, play video games, sleep late, sled ride or play with their Dora toys and these.  But mom, on the other hand, has a little more work on her hands.  She has to worry about lunch, and it's difficult getting to all those other chores that stack up.  Laundry and dishes keep growing exponentially on snow days. 

Ah!  Sometimes, you need to escape.  I keep looking at my beach shower curtains and am dreaming of a vacation to the Caribbean.  I loaded a picture of a cruise my husband and I took on Carnival last year onto my phone, and I just keep staring at it.  Snow days used to be fun as a kid, but now they are just more of a nuisance than anything.  My husband says the same thing as his commute is much, much longer.  Beautiful, but it brings work.
