Its the start of a new year, the start of a new decade, and the start of a whole new set of projects for me. I am hoping to start a bunch of new crafts and refine a bunch of old crafts. For example, I have recently started teaching myself to sew. I still have a long way to go on this, but things are looking good. I mean things are coming out recognizable and well they do fit, but I need a little work on my stitching. This will come over time. My husband has some sword and SCA buffs he talks to that want me to start making swordsman garb and such and are willing to pay me for it, once I get my skill up. I would also like to start making Belly Dance costumes. I myself love Belly Dancing and have been learning over the past year. It has now become one of my full blow passions.
Also soon, I plan on getting back into making soaps, lotions, candles and such. I would like to try making everything from scratch this go around rather than the melt and pours I used to do. I am hoping to get this started within the next month or so.
Once I get a lot of this going I will be selling my goods on my Etsy site. I do hope to get this going soon. I am starting out with a few small items such as crochet lace chokers, and hopefully some very delicate crowns for Wiccan Ritual wear and some that can even be used as part of Belly Dance wear. Here are a couple of sample pics of a few of the choker designs I am playing with. Some will be plain, some will be pentacles and I am also working on some Gothic crosses as well. I am hoping to get these listed on Etsy by the end of the month.
I have so many ideas right now, that is is pretty hard to get things lined up. Too many ideas, to much going on at once, and not enough money to start everyone of those ideas LOL. Yeah that last one gets the best of us every time doesn't it.
Anyway, on a more personal craft note, I just started a brand new cross stitch yesterday (1/11/10). Now this one I am doing for no other reason than personal pleasure, or some form of cruel and unusual torture, depends on how you look at it. Its huge, its detailed, its itsy bitsy, tiny stitches, it will drive me insane. And yet I will enjoy every minute of this torture LOL. Actually it is a copy of a print of The Morrigan by Jessica Galbreth. Very beautiful.
