Come grow with The Mommies Network!

Since 2002, The Mommies Network has been making differences in mothers' lives around the country. Beginning out of desire to fulfill a personal need - two first time mothers wanted a way to meet other moms without subscribing to expensive mom-n-me activities or committing to strict meeting schedules. They wanted to find some other women in similar situations who wanted to chat and get together every now and then. Since then, The Mommies Network has become a 501c(3) organization and are dedicated to creating a support group in every major city in the United States.

With the outstanding growth that The Mommies Network has experienced in the past year, opening up 24 new support sites, we are looking to find a Site Leader in your area that will be willing to continue the trend in supporting mothers.

About The Mommies Network:

MISSION
To provide a safe, secure, FREE place for mothers to find support and encouragement from other mothers and to empower them to be better women, parents and community leaders.

PHILOSOPHY
No one should have to pay a fee to make a friend, so we offer free membership to any mother within the community who wishes to join.

Members gain camaraderie and support through an online forum that is available 24 hours a day and events around the area where mothers can meet face-to-face and develop real friendships that can last a lifetime.

We believe that by working together we can change the world - one family, one neighborhood, one community at a time. The Mommies Network is a connecting force, helping us each to make a difference in our own lives, in our families and in the places we call home.

OUR MEMBERS/VOLUNTEERS
Our members work full time, stay home full time, work part time, represent many races, are pregnant for the first time, adopted their children, were adopted themselves, recently moved to the area, have lived here all our lives, have twins, are happy with one, are single parents, are searching out schools and have watched their kids graduate. In other words, we are a reflection of mother's in the real world. We aim to help out our neighbors as much as ourselves through organized fundraisers and other charity events - specifically those focused on providing for mothers and their children.

The Mommies Network is currently a 100% volunteer organization (except our National Sponsorship Manager who receives a stipend). The Mommies Network is currently managed by a board of directors and an advisory board.

WHAT MAKES THE MOMMIES NETWORK DIFFERENT?

•·         Our sites offer FREE membership. There is never a fee to you (as the leader) or any other member to join the support network.

•·         Security for members. Our site leaders are able to verify members against a sex offender database before the member is allowed access to our sites. This provides a level of safety that other sites are not able to.

•·         We establish a community atmosphere by providing an array of forums ranging from different stages of motherhood to "fun stuff" like hobbies, specialty groups (i,e. military moms, single moms) and more.

•·         Site Administrators are able to recruit their own leadership team and are provided support by our 105 networking sites (and growing) across the United States.

•·         Our sites provide opportunities for fun, kid-friendly activities in their local area, so that members can meet new friends face-to-face and children can enjoy playdates with kids their own age.

•·         The Mommies Network encourages all sites to participate in local charitable drives and events, to help support moms, children and families in their local area.

WHY SHOULD YOU BE A SITE ADMINISTRATOR?

A Mommies Network Community Site Administrator will touch the lives of thousands of mothers in their community. You will be the key to linking moms together to form friendships and to find support as they travel (and sometimes stumble) down the road of parenthood. It is a commitment, but the benefits far outweigh the work involved.

Not only will you be helping moms connect with each other -- you will also be instrumental in getting these parents involved in their community and making a difference in the world around them. There are so many great things that we can accomplish if we work together and set our minds on a common goal.

We Will Support You
Make no mistake, the site administrator job will not be the easiest job you've had, but The Mommies Network will be with you all the way. We will work with you to establish your group, providing financial and educational assistance, training, and on going support to help your group succeed.

We'll get your site up and running (and pay for it), give you ideas for increasing membership, provide home page content and give you a framework for recruiting a support team.

We'll also give you access to extensive site management forums, where our site administrators and managers share their ideas and experiences with each other. You will never be alone or lack support as you work to develop your community.

We Will Provide an Easy to Use Site

Unlike Yahoo! Groups, MSN, Meetup and other free sites, ours are designed for discussion. Instead of receiving an email, members visit a site with multiple forums, each geared towards a specific area of interest to moms. All posts are threaded and each community member has a user id with profile including Avatar photo, location and signature. Each community also has a Gallery for sharing individual and group event photos and a Calendar for posting group events.

HTML and programming experience are not necessary to be a site administrator, but you must be computer and internet savvy. You will be fully trained in updating and maintaining your site and help will always be an email or post away.
