I took a 'writers block' break this morning by taking a few photos for fun in my garden. I know many of you are suffering through cold and snowy conditions, so I thought I would send warm spring-like thoughts to you today!

Today my first Calla Lily started to bloom, they are such a beautiful flower and I love them in my garden. They were my grandma's (who passed away many years ago) favorite flower, so I am always reminded of her when they come out each year.

I have several huge Birds of Paradise bushes, they seem so exotic to me even now after 12 years of living in a warm climate and they are very low maintenance, which they need to be to survive and thrive in my garden (!).

My orange tree and rose bushes are thriving.....I love fresh orange juice in the morning, straight from the tree!

Lastly, the name of this plant is eluding me, rubbery leaves, small, delicate white flowers....maybe a plant lover can help jog my memory. It's completely escaped my mind...that's what happens when you hit your 40's, the memory loss ;)

I'm in Southern California and love the winter here. Not so fond of the summer though, as I don't like the heat to get too much over 70. So it's perfect for me now :)

Loved seeing your beautiful flowers and oranges.  That last one looks like a jade plant--the leaves--don't know what it is, but it sure is pretty!  Thanks for sharing your flowers and oranges with us!

way to go
