TRAGIC DEATH OF MY GOOD FRIEND CINDY WHITAKER

I went to work Wednesday morning like any other day!  I started work at 7:30am, had my morning meeting that lasted about 20 minutes.   At 8:10 our department manager gathered us all together in the confernece room and said in a very shaky voice "I have some very bad news to tell you and it's going to be hard for me to tell you . . . . . Our Human Resource Manager, Cindy Whitaker, was killed last night in a horrible car accident"      I was in shock when I heard those words!!!    Oh my god!!!  I just saw her yesterday, spoke with her and laughed with her, how can this be!!!!  The accident happened the night before at 6:30pm when her and her husband had left their home to go out to dinner and got maybe 2 miles from their house, when they were driving on a four lane road - 2 lanes going east and 2 lanes going west.  Her car and another car were next to one another driving, when a black lowered honda came up from behind driving erractically  and shoved his way in between them, and made contact with Ciny's Ford Explorer which forced he into the lane of oncoming traffic and she hit a van head on!   It pretty much killed her instantly!!   Her husband was knocked out from the impact, when he came to he looked over and saw his wife slumpued over the steering wheel with blood coming from her nose and mouth!!     I could not imagine this!!    I am so sad and now my sadness has turned into anger!!!   This person driving the honda, kept going . . . . and now is being saught by the police!!  In the meantime, Cindy is gone, her husband Mitch has a broken ankle and a crushed leg - and is beating himself up!!  He keeps saying "it's my fault, I was the one that wanted to go to dinner, it should have be me that died, not my wife!!"  Her 2 children are devastated!!  Her son Eric can hardly function and her daughter Leanna is a rock at the moment!  She is stepping up to the plate and taking charge of all her mother's funeral arrangements!

Please pray for the Whitaker family - Mitch, Eric, Leanna & for all Cindy's extended family.   Please pray that Mitch will make a speedy recovery, he just had surgery yesterday on his crushed leg!  Please pray that this family will get through this horrible tragedy and that the police WILL find the driver of the Honda that caused this accident!!  Once caught, please pray that he will be punished for this horrbile crime!!!

I have hardly slept since I found out about this.  Yesterday, for whatever reason, I amde my husband drive me to the scene of the accident . . . it is still hard to fathom that I will not see my friends smiling face everyday at work, I will no longer hear her laugh with her!! 

Wednesday is her funeral, I am going to pay my respects to her greiving family, and going to see my girlfriend for the last time, until we meet again in Heaven!!

I am so angry that her life has been cut so short, she was only 54!!!    But I know that heaven was happy to see her, and I am sure that the angels have greeted her with open arms, knowing that they have added 1 more SPECIAL angel!!

I will miss you so much Cindy Whitaker!!

I lived for quite a while in SoCal and know the type of reckless behavior many drivers exhibit on the highways. I hope the police catch the driver responsible for your friend's accident.

i am really sorry to hear about happend to your friend and i too hope they find who did it that just goes to show how crule people can really be i will keep you in my prayers and the family too.
