Is An E-commerce Business Viable?

E-commerce spending over the last few months was strong, with consumers spending nearly $30 MILLION over a period of a few months.

It certainly is no surprise to me that the digital goods world saw strong sales over the past year.  According to “Inside Virtual Goods: Tracking the US Virtual Goods Market 2009-2010′” the digital goods business in the United States was projected at $1 Billion for 2009.   In addition, PlaySpan’s survey found that one in five of its digital goods buyers also gave virtual gifts.  About 15% of all virtual gift giving occurred during the November and December months.

E-commerce Has Opened New Business Opportunities

E- commerce is no longer just the little brother of Sales. Shoppers have become very adept at using websites to locate local brick and mortar stores where they can inspect the exact goods they want…then go home to buy that exact item online.  Why?  The savings!

Despite the “Recession”, confidence in online shopping is on the rise.

7.5% Growth In 2010

The following graph, provided by eMarketer, shows that E-commerce sales took a very slight hit this year, but it’s a tiny price to pay for the boom that’s set to come:  7.5% growth in 2010!

All of this information supports the fact that we are in the right place at the right time with the right company!

There are two types of people in this world…  Those that will capitalize on this growth and facilitate the exchange around these goods by starting their own E-Commerce Business, and those that don’t.
