Cody Jamison's Birth story!

On Jan. 7th i woke up and had my bloody show. i was due on jan. 3rd so i was already 4 days late. I had a drs. appt to make sure the baby was ok that morning. The dr. said everything was great and that i was 1 cm dialated. Well that night i started having contractions but nothing too consistant and i wasnt very good at timing them either. lol So i went to bed(or tried to at least) at midnight and ended up waking up at 3am with really strong contractions. so i knew it was it. i stayed home until about 5am then called the dr. and headed to the hospital. At the hospital they checked me and i was 5 cm! i was so happy i was going to try and have my Vbac after all!!! so i got in my room and got all hooked up and they gave me some nubain to help with the pain. i did not like the nubain at all. i just hated that feeling like i was drunk! lol well about 8am the dr. came in and checked me and i was 8cm. so he broke my bag of waters which hurt like heck! lol after that my contractions were unbareable! i was in so much pain. the dr. told me i should get the epidural so i can get some rest and try and relax before the pushing began. so i got it and im so glad i did! i have so much respect for those woman who do it naturally now that ive felt that kind of pain! so about 10:30 the dr. came back in and i was fully dialted and ready to start pushing. by then my epi had worn off on my left side so i was in a little pain. so i started pushing and the dr. said that before the baby started crowning i tore a little on the inside. The babies head had gotten to crowning and stopped and his heartrate started to fall. i was so scared. the dr. used the forceps to help him along but was able to pull him out with out the forceps. finally at 11:01 Cody Jamison Mollett came into the world! He was 9lbs 10oz and 22 and 1/4 in. long! Big baby! lol luckily i didnt tear my perineam but did have to get some stitches on the inside. The dr. said he was very impressed becuz he didnt think i would be able to have my vbac since i only have a single layer closure on my uterus from my previous c-section and the fact that Cody was so big! i am so happy with my birth and that it went smoothly! My family is finally complete!!!

1 day old! he had some bruising on his cheeks from the forceps but they went away after a couple of days!
