So I was gonna nap while the baby slept.. but now I can't sleep. lol. Started think about school...
So
of course my brain started to wander. I have sought out all my options
and I have decided to apply for the Early Childhood Masters Program at
The University of Kansas. I have a few things to do to prepare.
1. Write a Killer admissions Essay.
2. Order in my Transcripts.
3. Obtain 3 letters of recommendation.
4. Fill out and submit my application and fees.
This
program is gonna kick my butt. I haven't been an on campus student in a
couple years. KU's ED program is a challenging one. I will have a lot
to juggle.
The First Semester would be this fall. I would have
to drive to lawrence 3 nights a week for classes that run from 4:30-7pm
on Monday, Tues and Thurs. I would have to make arrangements to leave
early at work so I could make it on time or I would have to find new
employment. Alex would need special arrangements on those nights as
well. Then of course there is the homework. The following semester
would be the same concept.
That summer and the second fall I
would begin my student teaching. This will affect my ability to work at
my present job unless I can convince them to work something out. They
told me my prior experience is irrelevant and I have to go through
their program.
The final semester is my masters thesis stuff.
It will be busy, but in two years I should be able to start teaching my own classroom. :)
