He was a son, a brother, a husband,a father, a grandfather (soon to be to two grandsons), and a friend. He climbed 14 of the 54 highest moutian peaks in the world or USA I cant remember. He ice climbed. he climbed mt Kiliminjaro (moutian in africa). He was a runner. A marathon runner at that. He qualified for the botson marathon many of times. Just in one marathon he was averaging 8 min a mile, wow, and that wasnt his best! He was a water skiier, and a mt skiier. He loved to travel and spend time on his boat.

His family was everything to him, his grandaughter Ella the apple of his eye. He would fly out here to portland every month from Colorado so he could have a good relationship with his granddaughter and family.

So..he died jan 5th, 2010. He was a week away from being 54. He was so healthy, we thought, but never botherd to share that he was on meds for blood thinners. He wanted to go natural and not use meds....it didnt work, now hes not here. He had a blood clot and had a heart attack and died in his sleep.

Now I am able to move on, I am doing alright. I am training to do a half marathon in honor of him and raise money to donate to American Heart Association for a memorial in his name. I can do it. I just have to know that he would be really proud of me.

He sounds like he was a truly amazing person who lived a truly amazing life. What an inspirational story So sorry for the loss. It sounds as if you are doing a good thing for him and the AHA. I am sure he will be looking down on you and smiling.

I'm sorry for your lost. I lost my Dad Aug 08. One day at a time. Good luck on the marathon.
