Due to my Grandma passing over the holidays I decided to put my feelings in reflection and the following is what I put together.

FAMILY...

It distinctly sets us apart from another,
Usually consisting of a a dad, mom, sister or brother.

Although, some come without these members listed - it's true,
Nevertheless, whatever you're given, it represents YOU.

For me, I received a father, mother, and two older brothers,
I was the only blonde, green-eyed amongst the others.

Growing up the only girl, I was 'daddy's little princess',
Though our time together was few, work kept him away more or less.

With mom, things were quite different,
We cooked, baked goods, handled chores is how our 'quality-time' was spent.

In regards to my elders, the oldest a charmer and quite funny,
The other, a 'real Einstine' whose now  a doctor making tons of money.

But to go even deeper to the roots of 'who I am',
I dare not leave out my dear grandma, my 'special' gram.

For surely if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be here today,
She was my rock, loving me unconditionally each and every day.

Now I must ponder from memories of past,
I dearly miss her now, she is gone to be with the rest at last.

FAMILY...it's what makes us unique and apart from one another,
Usually beginning with a dad, mom, sister or brother.~

Christine that was beautiful!  Your Gram instilled a special love into your heart that you will always carry with you.  She now lives in you :) God Bless.
