This question has crossed my mind so many times, and I've often wondered what others think.

With so many child abductions,IF there ever was a program to micro chip your child (lets say the activation would only be good til they were 18) would you do it? If it was like a GPS tracking capsule. I know to many this sounds like a horrible thought-but I'm betting to the families of missing children,if they could turn back time...

Do you think this falls too much into the whole "Big Brother's Watching" scenario.

I mean we microchip pets, but yet we have no real security system in place for our kids.

Would you do it?

Just would love to hear your thoughts on this.

(Placing more thought on the question... If it could ONLY BE ACTIVATED,by an agency-once a missing report is filed (that way to prevent abuse of monitoring whereabouts)

Any implantation could cause the body more harm then good. It is a foreign object and our bodies weren't made for that, especially, young, growing children.

If you have to have the desire for a moniter use an anklet bracelet that are put on people after they get out of jail or are on work release.

This is a general question and it is mainly because it sickens me at the thought of how many child abductions take place daily.

I wonder if such a system would prevent such horrible things in this world when it comes to kids-or would the sickos still continue to abduct, and then just "leave their evidence" (meaning would they end up killing the child)

Honestly, I would have no problem with it... If it would end up saving just one child, it would be worth it in my book.

Ankle bracelets, monitors on glasses, in clothing, etc. All of those could be removed .

Ronnie being soooo "pretty" and nonverbal...Ryan as naive as he is...yes if I could activate a GPS to find my boys should they ever go missing....yes!  If it was a microchip like in an animal that has to be scanned to find info, then no, not worth it to put my kids thru, I don't think that would work, if an ani,al is missing it gets taken to a vet or animal control,,,they have scanners...if a kid goes missing by abduction, they r not gonna be brought into some place to be scanned.  But something to activate to find my boys...yes!

See-I think if it was somethig that could be activated-I mean Amber alerts are good,but...there's a delay---If there was something that could instantly pin point a child, alert the area police and get this offender right then n there-how many children might possibly be saved??? Makes ya think.
