As I continue down this road with Cafe Sheri & several other moms, I am encouraged to see that others struggle in the same areas.  Not that I am celebrating those struggles but it's nice to know that I am not alone in my strive for balance & finding joy in my daily life.

Marriage:  Goal: date night every other week.  Progress: No date or real alone time last week.  I have continued to quit working after Bella goes to bed so that continues to have a positive impact.  Tomorrow we have date night.  Our daughter has Night at the Ballet at the Y from 6:00-8:30.  I am really, really looking forward to the time alone with him because this week has been a particularly chaotic week for both of us.

Kids: Goal: 15 - 30 minutes of quality time with the kids.  Progress:  This week I have failed this goal miserably.  In my defense...Late Monday morning I found out I had a deadline for work...to have 125 documents reviewed by Friday morning.  Since appointments were already scheduled, this really cut into my one on one time with the kids.  I hope to take my daughter to see The Tooth Fairy next week.  I am still struggling to find something to connect one on one time with Dylan (17). 

Work Goal:  Not feeling like I am working 24/7 & get a new schedule worked out to get my hours in. Progress:  This week was obviously NOT a good week in this department but it was out of necessity for my job...period.  It was not an option & this is the first time it's ever happened that I have had a deadline like this.  Unfortunately, the deadline has been extended bc there are many more documents that still need to be reviewed.  I got down to 14 documents, emailed my supervisor & she assigned me about 100 more documents and advised me that we have a deadline of "sometime next week".  This means I have to continue to work at the pace I have been.  I guess the bright side is that I will have a nice paycheck and once it's done, I can take an entire day or 2 off!

Personal Goal:  Getting some ME TIME in, including daily exercise, Progress: Not that great this week.  My work cut into everything!  I did continue to get my workouts in, I did cut them short but I still did them...except today.  Monday night I didn't go to Bible study bc I needed to work & meet my deadline.  I am now a full week behind in my homework.  I plan on catching up on it this weekend.  I also promised my brother that I would make a Valentine's card for him for his girlfriend....this will be fun bc it will require me to get out all those pretty card making & scrapbooking supplies that are displayed in the den but rarely touched. 

Household:  Declutter & get rid of un-used/un-needed things.  Progress: yeah...you guessed it...not so good!  My big accomplishment in this dept. was cleaning out the fridge & washing down the inside of it. I am determined in the next week to tackle the beast that's under the kitchen sink...it screams at me whenever I open the cabinet doors..begs me to declutter & organize it.  I will take before & after pictures of this.  Clutter annoys me...distracts me...as if you can't tell if you read last week's post! LOL!

Overall: In spite of major set backs this week....things still seem to be more balanced around here. 

Adjustments to Goals for new month:

Household Goal: continue mission to de-clutter and stop being so obsessive about cleaning.  I get the house cleaned every other week.  I will usually clean the entire house 2-3 times before they come again...vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, etc. I am trying to reduce that one time in between the cleaning. 

Marriage Goal:  continue goal to have one date every other week, also tell my husband something sweet/nice each day.

Kids goal: remain same

Work Goal: remain same

Personal Goal: Getting some ME TIME in, including daily exercise...more specific...daily Bible time, daily exercise, do something with a friend every other week
