church or outdoors? catered or potluck? if you have a professional baker in family ask if they can make the cake as a gift.we found invites at a party store that you can do yourself( on computer)for like $35--$45. We found gifts for bridal party at Bath and Body Works for 65% off.We had a family member sing at our wedding.(i have been married twice and don't remember ANYTHING about what the singer sang or when.so i wouldn't spend alot there.I had a wedding planner for 2nd wedding--let me tell you ,it was the biggest waste .my 1st wedding we spent around $7000.00 in a church. 2nd was in a church but we only spent $3500.00 My mom made 2nd dress,my 1st one cost $700.

My first wedding was 3000.00 and it was outside, The only thing I got to pick out was the colors, my mom did everything else. She bought a book about doing weddings on a budget. I bought my dress for 250.00 it was on sale at davids bridal. My second wedding however was alot less stressful we got married at the court house. I told my hubby that I wanted zero stress, we oth had the big fancy weddings before. I have recommended to a friend that she go to the court house, have a nice reception and honey moon, she still wants a wedding dress to wear  to her reception and he is going to wear a tux.
