Advice Please

I have a 7yr. old daughter who has been sick for 2 days with a cough and her stomach has been hurting her I called her doctor and they told me that her doctor only does physicals on tuesdays and the nurse said she couldn't recommend anything for her ugh I've been giving her cough medicine and putting vicks on her chest also been giving her tea but I just feel so bad cause I can tell she really isn't feeling good at all ant advice would help please

Is it possible that her stomach might hurt from the coughing or the medicine..I don't know I am just trying to help. Today is Tuesday and her doc would not see her..I say if she is not better by tommorrow and her doc wont see her to take her to a local clinic. I hope she feels better soon.

Definitely try the doctor or a clinic again tomorrow.  Maybe the pain is because of the coughing or the medicine, but maybe not.  Tea is very acidic, that might be making things worse, I'd stick with water or juice. 

You could try a hot water bottle, or something warm on her tummy.  Good luck and I hope she gets better soon.

It may be possible that her pain could be caused by her cough, but I would recommend watching her closely.  Hopefully your doctor can see her tomorrow.  Couple of things that happened to me...my son was admitted to the hospital last week for pneumonia and it all started with cough and sore stomach and then over night he began a fever.  Next day we noticed that his breathing was not right.  So we took him to the ER and found out he had pneumonia.  Now this happened in about 4 days.  Then there's my daughter who a few years back complained about a sore stomach so I made sure she drank plenty of water, got her rest and told her that if she wasn't feeling better then I would take her in to the doctors the next day. Well, we only made it til that evening.  We took her to the ER because after all those fluids she said she still wasn't using the bathroom.  Redflag went up and we took her...better safe than sorry.  Found out she had to have her appendix removed. 

Now I'm not a doctor, but until your doctor's office opens tomorrow I would definitely keep a close eye on her.  Of course it could just be a cold. 

I hope she feels better soon.!

Thanks ladies it seemed like she just had a cold and is gettng better already her stomached hurted from her coughing so much and it is slowly going away now she actually got up to go to school today :)
