Last night we shut down the computer games and the tv and just played, read, did homework etc, and hour before bedtime.  We need to do that more often!  I was reading to the kids (all in the living room/dinning room area, but all doing their own thing) from the book,  Bees to Trees Reading, Writing, and Reciting Poems About Nature complied by Susan M. Freese, when my 8 yr old climbs into my lap so he could read the poems with me too!

He didn't really want to for me to read the "how to" portion, but we did anyway and on his own, he decided to write a poem.  That was so cool!  He took it to school today to ask his teacher if he could read it to his class.  So fun.

What a blessing.
