DS doctor appointment was today..update

took DS to the doctor today,

The doctor ordered a hearing test, a bunch of blood work, new allergy meds, a cream for his scalp, and said to bring him back  immediately if there was any new symptoms...or if there was nothing better from the meds in two weeks.

He also said that if there weren't any changes with in six weeks then he would be ordering a full body scan. He said depending on the bllod work he might order one anyways.

He said it could be a few little things that are happening all at once, or it could be symptoms of two different diseases. One is an autoimmune disease, and the other is a disorder that causes the patient to loose their hearing. Both of them sounded horrible and had names that i could not pronounce and did not write them down because I don't think I should be looking them up.

My father had and my brother has an auto immune disease. They had two different kinds. The doctor was even asking psyche questions as to why his hair is falling out. "Does he see his grandparents? Does he like school? does he see any other relatives? Has the dog died?"

To which i replied, "Yes but they live a couple hours away but he talks on the phone all the time, He homeschools and it is very layed back, he plays wii, and feeds the dog..he sees his uncle and aunt that live next door and loves their house. Nope no dead dog or relatives or fish even"

He asked if he didn't like to do anything or to see anyone inpurticuliar. "i repleid, he doesn't like to brush his teeth or take a bath, he is a boy... he doesn't like to come here unless he knows he isn't getting a shot. Normal kid stuff"

He said that he was ruling out psyche issues for the hair loss, and that the tests would show us alot more of what we needed to know. We are getting the blood drawn on Monday morning. He has to fast for it. His hearing test is scheduled for the 10th of march. He has already had his first doses of the meds and the cream.Now we are waiting to see what happens. Our prayers are that he is just having a few different things that just happened to happen at one time.

 I am thankful that the Dr. has taken us serious and that he is taking actions to figure it out. He is very in depth about everything with our kids and asks alot of questions. He has seen them at their best and knows when they are sick. He commented a couple times about his eyes and how dark they are.

I am trying not to panic especially since we were standing in CVS waiting for his prescription to be filled this morning and ds reached up to scrath his head and whe he moved it away he had hair under his fingernails.

I had to explain some of this to him today. "he wanted to know why his hair is falling out and why he had to give the Dr some of his blood? I explained the best I could without worrying him.

He still acts pretty normal. He is tormenting his sister as we speak. But he is complaing that he is tired and ready for bed. It is not even 8pm yet.

He took a 2 hr nap yesterday and slept 12hrs last night and I had a terrible time getting him out of bed. He also had a nap on the way home from the Dr today.

Please pray for my son and the resolution of these symptoms. I am a little scared to say the least.

But this morning I was reading my Bible and flipped it open to Luke and it fell to the passage about not worrying. ABout how God cares for the birds so he we surely take care of us.

i do hope he is ok. have they already ruled out cancer? esp with the hair loss...
