I've been hearing this word a lot lately:  Co-creation.

Because businesses and professional people everywhere are thinking up new ways to attract business they are also becoming creative when it comes to how to attract that new business.

Co-creation is the bringing together of businesses and people who have worked hard on their own to achieve what they have and now want to take that success to another level. However, for whatever reason, mainly the economy, sometimes the costs involved are what holds them back.

Instead they are teaming up with like minded people and businesses who share in the same goal or vision, but handle different parts or bring a whole new aspect to the business.

For the past year I have worked to develop Page Readers as a Blog Talk Radio Show where I interview authors about their book or books, giving them one more avenue to market their work.  It's been an exciting experience for me personally and professionally, meeting the people who have worked hard to see their dream of becoming a published author realized. They have all inspired and enlightened me in my own sense of purpose and persistence.

A few months ago I met Carol Langstroth, Manager at Mind Fog Reviews through Aggie Villanueva at Visual Arts Junction who had been a guest on my show. Carol and I had been judges for a writing contest Aggie had sponsored and upon realizing that we do the same thing only a different way, we started talking about collaborating to take what we were both doing to another level of service.

Mind Fog Reviews is a branch of another business to promote authors, Author Meeting Place and it is owned and operated by published author Anastasia Cassella-Young.  Author Meeting Place works to promote the works of others, offering free page hosting and reviews for authors along with services provided by Anastasia that include editing, proofreading, formatting and the making of bookmarks and book trailers.

Realizing that the three of us are doing the same thing, reading, reviewing and promoting authors in different ways we've decided to work together to pursue the same goal:  Increasing awareness of books and authors that might otherwise go unnoticed.

We are all excited about the journey ahead of us, the possibilities are unlimited.  Knowing there are so many authors with stories to share with the world who are only wanting the chance to be heard gives us the inspiration - the persistence - to grow the three branches of this collaboration into something bigger than they could become on their own.

I, for one, believe that everything happens for a reason.  That luck is the crossing of two paths: planning and opportunity.  Anastasia, Carol and I have each been growing our plans and now the opportunity is presenting itself.

Together we will co-create something wonderful!

Nanci, I too believe everything happens for a reason. Glad I could play a small part. We're all in this together.
