This is embarassing to have to post this. I have seen this first hand. Today I got the pleasure of seeing my bff of 30 years. She lives out of state and rarely gets to come "home". My girls and I met her at red lobster for lunch. I love red lobster. We sat there visiting and really enjoyed it.
She had a cold and I knew that before we left. I hadn't seen her in so long I honestly did not care! Well we all ordered our meals and hers came with a fork, so she never had to open her silverware. Now brace yourself.
In the middle of the meal she picked up the silverware that was sitting next to her (still all raveled up pretty) She wipes her nose across the neat napkin. Never unravels it, but just picks up the entire thing and wipes it across her nose. EWWWWWW!!!!!!!!
I made sure to tell the waitress while she was in the bathroom to make sure that ALL the silverware comes off the table and why. I told my friend it was super gross. I don't know where her manners went but not only was it disgusting but it was rude to all those around us. I have never seen such behavior from a child, much less an adult!!!
It will be the last time that I go to dinner with her to be honest. I was so embarassed!
I just wanted to share. I never dreamed anyone would do this! I know for myself I will be asking for fresh silverware. Chances are this is being over cautious but I will not be using someones boogers to wipe my fingers! I am still extremely grossed out by this today!!!
