Monday night Feb 8 2010.

We all gather together for dinner.I cooked a roast, mashed potatoes and green beans. Not the best dinner but everbody was in a good mood. Until my DD told us she found a penny on the play ground at her tutoring place. She and her brother go to a after tutoring where they get help with home work and other stuff.  According to her she picked it up and gave it to one of her classmates. She was very happy as she told us that. And my dumb ass of a DH (D stands for DAMN in that case) tells her: Dont ever give anybody any money this is your money!!! Blah blah...! Mad her her cry. I looked at him like WTH was that. Instead of handling it like a grown man and calm down no he starts bitching at me and stomps of to the basement!! I told my DD that she did  I wonderful job and that was very kind of her!!

My DD and my DS had a good time after that while my dh ate cheese balls for dinner!!

He was an complete IDIOT!!!

How could he hurt my dds feelings like that??!!!

Wow... this makes me think of a post of a child who chose to give his piggy bank money to the people in Haiti... how would he react if your daughter did that?  Holy cow... I'm always supportive (and so is DF) if our children want to "share" - whether its toys, money, or clothes.  You're doing a good job, mama... keep up the good work!

Your daughter has a kind heart. It was right of you to support her after her Dad's shocking reaction. Was he having a miserable day...or does he tend to over-react like that? I hope your son was watching, and will also learn to be generous like his Mom and sister. When we give to others, it comes back to us - double, triple, quadruple!!! I have to think of Mother Teresa, who grew up in poverty, but yet all she desired was to give every penny (and everything else, for that matter) she could to others...giving, caring, nurturing, compassionately. Would your husband ever consider volunteering somewhere together as a family? It would be a great experience. I had to laugh about the cheese balls, though! That's a funny image, him sitting in the basement eating cheese balls! LMHO!!!  :)  I hope you had a good day! butterfly

Poor little thing. She did a wonderful job and she will be just fine as she has a mommy like you to tell her when she is doing a good job. As for DH, i think its in their genetics to be complete idiots about stupid shit!

Seems like people forget to use their heart as a filter between their thoughts, and their mouths!!
