My fiancee Bob has been incarcerated since May of 2009, he has another 6 and a half months to go.  He is currently in a work release program, he goes out to work each day he can, he just received his first 48 hour pass.  We got to pick him up on Friday and return him back today.  The weekend was wonderful, we spent the entire time at home as a family, relaxing by the fire and watching movies.  My son (not his) has considered him to be Daddy since he was 4 years old, he's now 9. They spent so much time together and he was so thrilled to be with him.  He asked Bob at one point, "Daddy, you know I'm still very mad at you for being gone and making it hard for mommy and me, but do you promise to never leave me again?"  Bob got a little teary, and promised him it would be okay, he would make it up to him.  Then my darling child very candidly told Bob, "That's good because Mom would probably kick you right in the Nut Sack, if you screw up again!" God I love my little Aspie, he makes life so interesting and colorful.  But it was nice to have him home for those few hours, fall asleep in his arms, and wake up to his face in the morning.  In a months time he will be eligible for passes every weekend.  If we can afford it or maybe every other weekend.  It was so nice to have that time, but so hard to take him back today and leave him behind.  Here's hoping the next 186 days til his release goes quickly and we can get our family back together.
