I feel so badly. My 9 yr old daughter told me this morning before school that she didnt feel good and that she wanted to stay home. This is something that is fairly common with her so I didn't think anything of it. I told her if she wasn't throwing up or didn't have a fever that she had to go to school. Well, around 9:30 this morning I get a call from the school nurse telling me that she got sick in class. I feel terrible!! I should have just listened to her :(

I'm sorry. I hope she will feel better soon. I just picked up my son too. Just tell her you are sorry...you didn't know. I hope she isn't embarrassed about getting sick in class (I'm really sorry that happened)....I hope no one made her feel badly.

I understand your feeling badly, but I would use it as a teachable moment. Explain to your daughter that this is why she should only tell you she feels sick when it is the truth. Tell her the story of the little boy who cried wolf. Remember that story? When the wolf really did show up, nobody believed him because he had yelled wolf so many times before when it wasn't true.
