okay, honestly, are you a fun mommy? I'm not and lately it's worse because I have been going through depression and anger issues. Well, I want to change that and am looking for advice and ideas. Typically I work full time, but for another month and a half or two months I am home full time. I have a 7 month old baby, a 21 month old son and a 3.5 year old son. Now the oldest is in preschool in the morning and I want to start doing activities with him in the afternoon and weekends rather than sitting home and letting him play by himself or with his younger brother. I want to be involved. I don't do that much because I am so tired and I get angry with messes and when he gets to hyper, I yell loud at him and I am trying to control that because he doesn't deserve it, so I am going to be a fun mom and by doing so, hoping it will actually help keep me calm and teach me not to yell when I don't have a reason, by realizing it's okay to have a mess, for him to be energetic as long as no one gets hurt.
So, he loves play-do so I am going to by more, and buy more crayons, markers, construction paper. I was thinking of making a rain stick, I saw something cute for a milk jug fish. I plan on taking them to places like the childrens museum and in the summer time the park. But right now I am looking for ideas for indoor fun, indoor arts and crafts, things to do inside that we can do together and that is hands on.
Come on, I need ideas. Let's hear how you are a fun mom and what you do with your kids.
Comments:
There are lots of crafts and activities you can find right over the internet. You should be able to put in the age group and it will give you age appropriate activites and craft. There are some fun websites for fun online activities for your children, and you can enjoy them together. My son loves sitting on my lap and doing the fun online activities. Try sesame street, pbs sprout, nick jr. they all have wonderful ideas!! This also actually teaches the children the alphabet and numbers you can even print off activity coloring pages. Also putting puzzles together, drawing, and some games are good inside activities. If you need any other helpful ideas you can message me!! Have fun, and enjoy being a fun mom!!!

KIds can get on your nerves SO easily when really they don't mean to be doing it. But it happens, daily. There are peaceful moments but when the house is filled with children, laughter comes about and fighting comes about. Wrestling comes about, physical contact comes about if its hitting or pushing or whatever.........it all boils down to running to MOMMY !!! HE did this or SHE did that OR .............AHHHHHHH!
So I have learned whenever I feel like yelling instead I start singing a song. Sounds dumb I know BUT it works. I can sing loud and crazy like, get the children to stop , look at me like I am crazy and they pretty much settle down and sometimes join in on the song. It gets out my frustrations without me yelling at them......and at times I have had even the youngest come up to me and shhh! me when I am singing. LOL
BUT it is so much better then yelling. I get so much farther in my frustrations being let out when I sing like that and the children all get distracted from who did what to whom.
And its pretty darn funny to see their faces when you pick a funny song to sing when they have been deep in intense fighting...LOL
Try it you will like it~!~
