I had my second appointment with my midwife, Marcine today. Things are going extremely well, with a nice healthy baby. I am now 24 weeks along and hardly showing, this is not a bad thing according to Marcine. It just means that my body type is not ment to look very large while pregnant. The baby and my uterus are growing at a healthy rate.
We discussed some things that have been on my mind such as trying to get the nursery done, and preparing for when the baby arrives. I have continued my healthy diet and moved on to eating allot of egg sandwiches. I have grown to absolutely love Justin's recipe of toasted bread, ketchup, mustard, spinach, and of course the runny yoked egg. I just can't get enough!
I was weighed again today at 111 pounds, last month I was 100 on the dot. Pre-pregnancy I am 98 pounds. WIC wants me to be at 130 right now, sheesh.... As Marcine has explained, which I have always strongly belived myself, all women grow and have different body weight proportion rates. I feel really healthy at the weights I am and have been, so I just continue to do what is healthy.
I am no longer craving the nail polish remover and have been taking a tablespoon of liquid calcium magnesium before bed every night. This has stopped my craving, as well as my minor leg cramps I was getting at night. I am now sleeping more peaceful and not having as much heartburn either.
I have been keeping up on my prenatals diligently as recomended. I have been taking prenatals for several years now just as a good well rounded multi-vitiman. Ever since I was 17 I would have to say. At first the switch to the new prenatals was rough, however I eased into them with some milkshake help here and there.
I am still doing really well on my pee test. I just love all the little squares on the stick, I found out it can even tell you when you are hungry. Cool huh?
Oh and my blood pressure is doing really well also, surprising considering how much stress I have been under lately with trying to get the nursery done.
This time she did a finger prick to test my hemoglobin's. Hemoglobin's are a part of your blood that carries oxygen throughout your body. So yeah, one of those important parts of how your body works.
The little fella was just moving and dancing when it was time to listen to the baby's heart rate. It took a while to get the baby to settle down enough and find the heartbeat, but once we found it, look out. It is a nice STRONG baby with a healthy thumper.
We left things off by her leaving some reading material for Justin and I to read.
"Preparing for Birth with Yoga" - Janet Balaskas
"The Expectant Father" - Armin A. Brott and Jennifer Ash
