So happy (super long)

I have great news ladies. If you read my previous post you heard my job is moving because of a company merger. Well I was not happy about that at all. The drive would be over an hour in good traffic but add a crash or crappy weather and it could be up to three hours. Not something I was looking forward to doing at all. Not to mention I would kinda be demoted into inside sales. I worked hard at my job in hopes I would move up not down. I was told I would get a .50 cent raise to help off-set my gas cost but not even that would cover it. The time was what I was most worried about. I was planning on going to the new place I was not happy about it, but hey gotta have health Ins. right.

I was so stressed this last month just thinking about it. It was making me short tempered and pessimistic. Those are two things I am normally am not ever. Well God answered my prayers. A wonderful new job just kinda fell in my lap. See the company I work for sub-contracts some business from another company and I was in charge of that business. Well the owner of that company found out they planned to move me down there and he knows where I live. He has always known what a great worker I am and asset to any company. He has a meeting with my boss above me about every week. He asked my boss if he thought I would be interested in working for him and if it was okay with my boss to pass that info onto me and let me decide.

So my boss (old owner great guy looks out for the employee not just the company) called me into his office and I knew it was good because he had a smile on his face. He told me to close the door and I assumed he was gonna tell me a inappropriate joke. He says "so I just talked to John and he was wondering if you would ever consider going to work for him" He then says "I don't want to loose you but I know your not happy about the drive or new position and I want you to do what is best for you and your family" I'm like totally speechless at this point. He then says "well you should at least see what he plans to offer you" He hands me John's number and says call him (this was Friday)

I call John and say "Hey John its me Ali and I was just talking to Tony and I was very interested in what he had to say" John then says "Well I'm very interested to get you on my team! When can we meet?" I said "I'm pretty open" he says "how do you feel about tomorrow" I told him as long as my MIL can watch the kids it should be fine I'll call you back if we need to change it. I said "does 9am sound okay" He says fine. So I call MIL and she says yes of coarse.

So on Saturday I woke up really early to get all nice looking and bring the kids to my MIL. I got to his place of business early. So I sat in the car and prayed to God it would be a great offer. I go in and he shows me around and kinda goes over what they do and who they work with. Then we go sit down in a conference room and right off the bat he says "I plan to offer you a generous salary but first lets talk about the job" He explains the job and what I would do and asks if that sounds like something I would be interested in. I tell him yes I would love it as I would be moving up in the distribution world not down. Then he starts telling about the health Ins. witch is awesome may I add 75% of the whole premium and the other benefits they offer. He then asks me what I make now I tell him and he says "I'll up that by 2 dollars an hour and give you 3 weeks paid vacation not to mention what you can earn in bonuses". I almost wanted to say "you had me at 75%" He asks" "so are you interested in the job" and I of coarse said "YES!!!" So we have a deal and he asked me to finish up my tasks here and keep it on the low down between me my boss and him. He does not make a habit of pirating employees from other companies, but he has always seen my potential and thinks it was unfair of the company to expect me to drive that distance. He is a good man he has been in this business since WAY before I was ever born and has grown his company into a very successful one. I'm really excited to be working for him!!!

I'm so happy this is just what I needed. I wanted to quit so bad, but couldn't until I found something else. I didn't think I would find anything that even came close to what I make now. Then this comes along and they pay more and offer more perks. I put my two weeks notice in and my boss was happy for me and told me it was an offer I couldn't pass up. My upper bosses are all bummed out and tried just about everything to get me to stay. That was an ego boost, but I know I will be way more happy with the new company. My whole family is very proud of me especially DH and Yiddy.

When me and DH were broke and I was working for almost nothing. I had a fit and told him "I'll never be able to make the kind of money you do I can't go out and get a manual labor job that pays good the most I'll ever make is 13 dollars an hour" My DH tells me "honey you can anything you set your mind to I think you can make good money your smart and worth your weight in gold" IDK why but that meant so much to me and I can remember it very clearly. I for once believed that I really could do it. Ever since then I have been on a mission and surpassed the 13 dollars long ago. Sometimes you need others to believe in you to believe in yourself.

Thanks for reading. I'm really really happy about all this and can't wait to start my new career with a wonderful company I can be proud to say I work for. While I'll miss my friends here I know I'll always keep in contact with my close co-worker buddies.

I always say when God closes a door he opens a window. Thank you Lord for all the blessings in my life.
